I stood on the beach, before a sea of seemingly glistering diamonds. I peered beyond, towards the horizon where water touch sky. I wondered what could be beyond. Perhaps someone like me, staring at the same horizon and having the same thought. Does the ocean really join with the skies? Who gives a crap, weird thought anyway. I cleared my mind and closed my eyes. I just wanted to rest.

The symphony that rang before me; so melodious and majestic. The sounds of waves gracefully crashing onto the beach. I can feel the cold water at my feet. With still my eyes closed, I took a step back. High tide probably. Again, after a few seconds the water reached me again. Every time the ocean came to me, I stepped back one step without my vision. Around ten steps later, I have my feet dry.

I restored my vision and saw that with every step I took back, the water took my footprints ingrained into the sands with it. It was as if the ocean engulfed my previous self and forcefully pried my shadow away from the sands. The footprints, evidence of where I was before gone forever. Where I am now, I have my footprint intact.

The air smelt fresh.
The skies blue.
Gloom was away that day I knew.
But who knew how long this would continue?

I don't know how long I have stood there, but I think it was perhaps around an hour. I closed my eyes again. I still can hear the waves crashing gracefully onto shore. Ironic isn't it? Crashing onto the beach, yet gracefully. The symphony sings of something else definitely. The breaking waves, the chirping birds, the breeze humming into my ears and the rustling leaves. I can picture the entire symphony in my mind.

The city lights

The chilling night breeze blew against my cheeks. I can see the bright city lights below from where I was. They seem to glow and sparkle with hope. Where I stood, was quiet and tranquil. I pretend to hear the bustling city below, the sounds of locomotives zooming pass each other on the roads, the night market booming with activities; people haggling over prices and shouting their goods for sale.

The breeze came again, and it whispered into my ears. I tried to decipher whatever it was trying to convey to me, to no avail that is. I swept my hair with my hand, flipping the stranded strands away from my face. I peered out towards the city lights again. The entire skyline of the city can be traced together with the bright dotted lights, it was really spectacular. The city so beautiful yet I seem so far away from it. Many a time, while flying on a plane and looking down the windows, the city lights they flicker so beautifully, like fireflies fluttering together. Maybe where I will be going has cities as beautiful as what we have here, perhaps even more magnificent. Then I won’t miss this place any bit, but deep down I know I am wrong.

I think I'm crazy over piano lol!!! I can play hanon for like 2 hours in a day surprisingly!

Anyway, I wanted to try Czerny etudes from his school of dexterity, but it's absolutely crazy!! Maybe I shall stick to hanon, then move onto back to my ocean etude hohohohohoho!!

Wow! I'm totally amazed by what I wrote a year ago!

This post is just meant for myself, perhaps it contains some tinge of guilt, regret, and maybe the resolve. U know, the resolve to do something good, like turning over a new leaf? Bah, too cliche. Let me try and rephrase it, into something more alluring, motivating and inspiring.

Time is parallel, it travels in a continous flow. No, you can't turn it back, neither can you foward it. So learn to make use of it. Experience comes with failure, lessons learnt from mistakes. But all these takes time. Funny isn't it? By the time I'd gather enough of the experience that make up what I would want to be, I reckon it might be a little tad too late. Life's like that, irony ain't it?
That's why, don't be like a slippery wall anymore. Cling on tight to the wall, and start scaling, scale to the top, and onto the other side. Who knows, maybe on the other side of the wall will be a higher wall, albeit a bigger challenge. But what's a challenge if you don't challenge it? Be brave, and believe in yourself. If others don't believe in you, it's alright. At least you must believe in yourself.

Lastly, what has passed is past. Don't think too much about it, learn from mistakes and don't be too full of yourself. Drop yourself to humbleness. When one holds his head too high, nothing good would really come of it. So, learn from mistakes, treat them as important life lessons, some hefty, some mild, but still serving the same purpose. Build on them, and carve out something remarkable!

While on the plane back just now, all I wanted to was rush back and know how you were doing. I thought I still stood a chance when you told me to come back safely when I texted I will miss you. I guess it was just wishful thinking on my own.

I tried to ask you out again tonight, but whenever I pop the question, you will avoid me. Tonight was no different, and that very last chance I so tightly held on to had been blown to smithereens.

Someone told me, you like her so much, but she doesn't want to receive your love. I don't know, after so long, I just became so battered and worn out. I know I cannot afford to collapse, for I'm so very afraid of losing you. I only know I must stay strong then can I still stand a chance, but I don't know how long I can keep up with this.

Well, life is short. Anyway I don't know why I made that sentence. Nonetheless, it is. Probably I don't want to live life with regrets, maybe that's just what it is.

It's been awhile since I made an effort to blog, I don't know what made the difference tonight. Maybe it's you, I don't know.

Someone wrote me this very important passage to me,
"I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow, and each road leads your where you wanna do. And if you're faced with a choice and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you. And if one door opens to another door closed, I hope you keep on walking till you find the window. If it's cold outside show the world the warmth of your smile..."

This very words, I keep them with me in my heart. Perhaps the phrase 'choose the one that means the most to you resonates with me the most. Just a couple of hours before, I made a decision I truly regretted. I told her I wanted to put a brake on what I was doing now. All she could mutter was I am sorry and I knew all was lost. I was in anguish and life seem to have lost its compass. Everything came crashing down and hit the trough.

Just as I was overwhelmed with these emotions, I thought of this passage. I went back and read through all the words, and the phrase 'choose the one that means the most to you' came to life in front of me. I know I cannot give up.

Yes, I will keep on trying till I win your heart. Even though the road may be tumultuous, I will never stop trying. I know words don't mean anything, so I shall use my actions to prove everything.

Yes yes, brand new year brand new layout!

Took me just over like 15 mins to do it. Basically what I needed to do what to dig out my old html code for my old site project : RojakMojo, and then touch it up a little bit. And boom! Its ready!

Haha! So as you all can see. There are some serious modifications to my site layout.

Gone is the three column layout and I switched it to a two column one; looks neater and clean! Gone is the flash video too and in favour just a normal text header.

My "social bar" which comprises of my twitter and cbox is gone too! Yes, I know those are important but I'm lazy to rewrite the coding. And I have not touched my codes for like over six months and I'm darn lazy to relearn too.

So with what I still know I managed to touch up the codes and tadah! JiNScreams new layout hehehe!

But wait! I'm gonna rewrite the whole coding again! In about three months time you all should see a new skin written up from scratch! :D

And my pet project: INjR which I've been planning to start like dunno how many ages ago!

Oh yes, sure, I've made countless impulse purchases. I admiiiiittttt. zzz

But now I don't. Heehee, I used to only buy stuffs on impulse when I first started buying stuffs for myself. I still remember those days, I spent as though money is free lol!

Anyway, not now anymore. Now, I need to think countless times before I buying any thing. Money is precious!!

First there's this dumb tote bag, bought it from UO at around 100+, after shipping around S$250. Utter waste of money I should say, and should I add, impulse purchase!!!!!

And I bought tons of books, never even get to read them, until recently. Haiyo. Anyway now I think books are interesting should read them more.

So here's what I plan to read till I finish all my books:

First we have On the Road to Kandahar, Jason Burke. Pretty interesting, but darn long. Can only complete like half a chapter every 45 minutes zzz (currently reading)

After the above book, I think I should move on to either To Kill a Mocking Bird, or some other psychology books.

Yeah, then I have ebooks on my harddisk, should be able to last me for the next decade.

So very interesting! I was looking back at my old posts and this particular post came to my attention. Won't mention what post, but it's about a *letter of retaliation to my old "enemies" (post of retaliation would sound more proper, but heck it sounds funny!)

Anyway, I was just firing off tweleve points at some crap "HE" wrote in his dumb blog. I just love the twelvth (however u spell it lah) point! So damn straight in his face and wtf! HOHO! Here goes:

Twelveth, go get a life dude.

HAHAHAH! So fucking funny!

Anyway that thing happened eons ago, something I would rather not remember. But nevertheless that episode made me reconsider the meaning of friends. Are they true to you? Or they just some bloodsuckers behind your back waiting to knock you dead when the moment calls for it? Afterall we're all humans, humans are animals, and we would do whatever to get to our goals, without betraying our humanly principles of course. Not sure though for some of those assholes out there.

Yup yup, back to the old memories. And I re-read his post he directed to me on his blog. It's all so well written, filled with bombastic/strong words that sometimes even stumble me. That's something I admire him for, his flair for languages, but that's the only thing, as a person I think he failed. Not so sure about now though.

Back to his post, well all I can say it's pretty accurate. 90% of his points he stated came true. Or can I just say, his predictions came true mostly.

Likewise time can change a person, and I believe I'm not longer the boy I used to be, so eager to plunge headlong into any conflicts. Not now anymore, the protanagonist wouldn't always win, sometimes the sidelines would be a better place.

And not to worry, whoever may be reading this. I no longer hold any grudge against you or whoever changed my life drastically from that day onwards. You was my friend and you plunge me into darkness, a bottomless pit in fact. So much thanks for that, but you taught me to be braver and so much more. Without you, there wouldn't be the me now. So a very sincere thanks.

Last but not least, I'll prove to you I'll be a greater man than you. I hope to meet you again.

PS: My goal in life wouldn't be like: "HEY! I'm a greater man that you now sucker!" or anything along that line. It just renders my life useless. Every mistake made is a lesson learnt and that was a major plunder I made, which means to say I've learnt a great deal.

That's right! School is starting tomorrow, and that marks the end of our attachement period!!

Attachement was fun, much better than school, in the sense that it isn't so mundane.

Anyway, since tomorrow is the beginning of a new school year, there should be goals right!!? Muahahah! (Y)

First! I'll start off with one/two html projects for the year. Really learn the html codes and stuff u know, so I can create a really nice site! (Even though I've the capabilities now alrd lah!)

Honestly speaking, my html foundations are not strong, and in many cases I just go by trial and error, so yup! Time to brush up my skills!

Secondly, the three core aspects of life! Only my closest friends know about these, so SHHHH!

Thirdly, I wanna get rich! LOL! Okay, a more down to earth goal, have another 1k into my bank by the end of this month (hopefully), if not by the end of may!

Currently I'm having my holidays, or maybe not, since I'm have ATTACHMENT now!!!! Last for 6 weeks, hope it faster pass! Super freaking boring!

Tell you, every day I'll just be sitting in the office, churning out pages and pages of schdules, non stop! Not to complain la, but the work itself is seriously boring. Given other jobs I'm sure I wouldn't complain that much =/

Ok, enough of digressing.

After spending 2 days of updating the html codes... I can now proudly present my new layout!

Added a new feature to the blog.

I shall just call it the Social Interaction Bar.

Sleek integration into the layout

Actually the image is kinda redundant, but nevermind! Haha! About the Social Interation Bar or SIB for short is where I have social interactive 'widgets' placed. Take for example, the twitter integration, where readers/friends can have the lastest information on me.

Then, we have the chat box, for conversing with me obviously, or plainly just commenting on ceratin posts. Lastly, the search box which provides a convenient alternative to the archive list. Instead of browsing through every posts, readers can have instant results on the keywords they searched.

Not bad huh? :D

Obviously, there's some minor kinks.

For starters, the search widget is kinda primitive. It can't generate a list of posts as the results, instead it just shows the related dedicated post site as the result. Also, I have no idea how accurate the search is, so this pretty much sums it up.

Well, obviously this is just the first version of SIB. I'll be updating that soon. I'll probably include even more widgets. And integrate javascripts into it, such as Jquery or maybe highslide.

Yay! Just bought myself an external harddisk! Since my previous harddisk's power brick failed, and I couldn't get the dumb brick anywhere, so I decided to just get a new one! And the new one doesn't need any power supply! (Y)

How'd u like that? Pretty small huh, hehe! And it does the work just fine, 500GB just enough for me to backup all the crap I have.

Shucks, only had three hours sleep today, plus around another an hour plus of nap I managed to sneak during lecture. That should make it four : \

So tireeeed! Luckily managed to endure after FA test!

And the test sucks big time!! Couldn't balance direct and indirect methods :O

Dunno lehhh, I would like to attribute it to the 'FACC curse' again. That being no matter how hard I study for my facc papers, I always can't balance either the balance sheet, p/l and in this case cashflow statements. Must be due to some careless mistakes!!

Okok! No more about tests and exams!

A brand new year calls for a new way of living life. Meaning, it's time to sit down, put on my thinking cap, and plan for new year resolutions.

I'll just list down three, just in case it gets too long.

So the first, I'll get good grades for my school tests and exams (okay, boring... NEXT!)
Second, I'll be more social and outgoing! Like really hone my social skills
And lastly, I'll earn more $$$!!! Hahaha, just kidding!

Whooo! After two days of continous html coding, refering to websites, and whatever html materials I've on hand. I managed to skin my FIRST ever blogskin for blogger!!!! :D

Okok, I admit I cheated abit la, I used a template from blogskin, as in just the css style sheet. Cause I've really no idea how to create that, then from there I drafted everything out myself ok! So no plagarising, just the css perhaps, but then I also did change the css, so maybe just the framework, or perhaps as a mere reference!

Boy, am I prooud of myself!!! MUahahhaha!

Anyway, I decided to be super proactive in learning html, css and whatever javascripts already! Damn fun and interesting!!!

Okay, so as a reminder to myself if I am to create another new blogskin, I will briefly state out the steps below.

First, I used a template from blogskins.

Okay, I'll just skip all the redundant steps.

For the SWF video, I used CamStudio to record the ppt slides and "HERO" video, then joined and edited them together using Windows Live movie maker. Then I exported the project as wmv and used Flash CS4 to convert it into a fla file.

In Flash CS4, I can import the fla file as a movie and then add related controls to it.

Once movie is exported as swf, a seperate control file is created (eg, seek bar, volume control for movie).

Next upload, both fla and control file to web.

Then create a new swf file again, but this time round using the urls for fla and control file. This can be changed under component inspector drilled down from window.

File hosting site is Google Sites.

For url from google sites, only use related url.

For example, file url could be:
www.8567565jhhghjbhhlk-movie.swf.9678678879JJHHfhbhfjkj

Therefore, delete the last redundant parts and use only,
www.856756jhhghjbhhlk-movie.swf

Yup, I think this should sum up the instructions for creating the swf video.

Next up, edits I've to make:
Edit hyperlink class, blockquote and create out links to friends' blogs.

I'm not afraid to express my thoughts or perhaps opinions. Why lies that feeling of dread or fear when opinions are exposed or read? Look, isn't this a pretty platform for us to air our views on, why be afraid? Anyway, this is pretty random. Just feeling like writing it out.

Is it me, or has or society reached a crux whereby everyone has lost their courteous self? Fuck, some people, they just have no basic sense of courtesy.

Why?

Very simple. Perhaps it's the model of our societies in which we live in; drove us to what we've become. Lusting after riches, beauty, fanciful sport cars, and whatever. We pay no attention to who is beside us, or the intricacies surrounding lives.

We're just like moving on a conveyor belt. Moving on and on and on and on, non-stop. Do we want that? We haven't got a choice do we? Everyone is doing just that, and we just emulate them. Nice.

No sense of politeness, no cohesiveness, no gratitude... I think we humans are worst than dregs. Pardon me for my crude language, but are we not?

I slept for like so many hours today! So let me tell you all what I did for the day. I woke up at around 9 plus in the morning, had my breakfast, bathed and did all the other crap, then prolly around in the afternoon, I fell asleep. Woke up at around 6, and then wasted all my precious time. And here I am now, blogging!

The tale of my stubborn router, or maybe laptop! (Part 1)

A long time ago, but not too long ago; which was like just thirty minutes before. There lived a grumpy white haired router, by the name of (erm...). It was factory named DIR 655, or so it was, until it came in to new home of Jin! That's me! Anyway, I think I will just call it the humongously gargantuan stubborn router, or HGSR for short.

And here it is! Looking all grumpy after I switched it on and off for like countless times, in an all futile attempt at salvaging my internet!!! GRRRR!

Okay, I know it looks fucking horrendous, but really, pardon me for my poor photoshopping skills. It's like my first attempt after so many months of not using it!

Hahaha, really!? Just kidding yo! Like photoshopped!? Hey, come'on! That's how my router really looks like, just plain o-pissed man! No photoshopping!

Like I said, it's grumpy and stubborn, its antennas are dying, oopies! That's more like three strands of white hair left after some serious balding! LOL!

I've been updating damn slow lately! Maybe it's just that the lazy bug caught up with me; no inspiration, no motivation, so no posts. Simple as that, LOL!

Anyway, I'm currently composing a song, after my previous attempt at a piano piece. First, progress is slow. Okay, damn out of inspiration. It's like I've got the melody and stuff all out, but maybe I'm greedy or whatsoever; prolly high standards for the song, thus I kept rejecting my own ideas; like trying to reinvent what I'd already on mind, to no avail that is. So progress is stagnanted. -__- And, I'm gonna try out SONAR after I get it!! MUAHAHAAH!

My work has ended too!!! Four hundred dollars of pay! Not bad already, considered it's just a little tad over a week. *Thumbs up!*

But haven't I composed before?? Nah, today would then be what I called my first ever time composing, because this time round I did it with proper chords, the previous one I just anyhow use the chords so not counted lah! Hahaha!

Anyway, it's half done, cos' I've run out of ideas already!! URGH! I think I might want to continue tomorrow.

And my theory sucks, so if anywhere it sounds weird, just bare with it lah hor. I already did my best and it's the FIRST time I'm composing ok!

And and!! I used sustained pedal for the first two bars only. Haha, just to try out the effect only. Will appy it to the whole piece after I finished it.

The irony that, life is never like being in heaven. No, there's not a single soul on earth who lives his life as comfortable as just being seated on a comfy sofa. Why? The reason being that earth was like heaven, what's the point of having another heaven? Life is always full of ups and downs. In times where things seem bleak; or when things turn wrong, there won't be any or we even dreaming about having any second chances presented to us. No, life is like a river flowing downstream. It's endless and ever flowing; downstream that is. It won't ever reverse its flow of direction for anything; albeit anything of the norm. What's at the end of the river I don't know, but what needs to be done is to be constantly on the move.

Life doesn't present to us second chances, that's unfair isn't it? Life doesn't, but we ourselves can. In distinctions of our modern world, many of us lose track of ourselves. We fail to see the reflections of ourselves among the countless thongs of crowds. And that's what is happening to almost everyone right now.

Yup, I've changed the background, did some small amendments, and TADAH! Not bad hor??? Hahaha, I don't think I would call it really new, since nothing much had changed, just some small amends here and there.

Anyway, before people come up to me saying it's a poor job done, throwing their comments all around. Yup, the tiles are abit rough, and the outline can be seen.

I'm using my XP, so I can't really do much about it, since I don't have any image editing software on XP, and I'm sure mspaint wouldn't be that much of a help. So well, I'll just leave it as it is.

Then, I've also deleted all the messages in my tagboard. Some of them are nonsensical, and some from my haters or whatever, so I decided to delete them all.

Deleted the classic column as well, since I thought there's not much purpose in leaving it there.

So that's the rough changes I've done. I'll try to edit somemore, like perhaps adding an image tag to blockquote, or maybe a new banner or something?

One great solution is to enclose this splendid country of mine in a huge glass dome, with installed air conditioning units. Woah, that will be shiok man! I mean like, we will have winter all round the year? Minus the snow that is, but then it'll still be great, without the stupid heat. Yeah yeah, global warming I know, so much for installing aircons in a huge glass dome. -____-

YAY! Today is the last day of school, and holidays will start officially in 2 days time! MUAHAHA! I can't wait for it mannnnn!

Come to think of it, the first week of my holiday is totally burnt. Yup, burnt to CCA and some stupid school programme. -_____- Shouldn't have signed up for the school programme, three days gone just like that. Zzz.

Style and substance

Muahahaha, went for today's sports club social gathering, and it was total splendid man!

First, I was chosen to get onto stage, (for dunno whatever reasons) then we were told to give a catwalk, not just those normal ones, but one that is funky and filled with stunts and whatever crap we can come up with.

Right, only 8 pairs were chosen, and I guess I was one of the few 'lucky' ones. -____-

My partner was melissa from dba and I thought we did a pretty good job, though the judges didn't seem to agree with us, and appreciate our 'catwalk'!!! Hahahaha! Gotten just a mere score of 6.

But anyway, it was a good experience. Some other teams fared even worse than us loh. Pathetic, lol.

Some participants were like so funny, one guy tried to slide on the floor, and do these breakdance move. The emcee claimed he fell on the floor! Then there's this team, (cos' we are teamed up as a guy and a girl) the girl's dancing was totally amazing man, then when it was their turn, the girl obviously danced, strutting her stuff, the guy just stood at one corner and stoned. LOL!

The guy was given a zero, and the girl a pretty high score. For us, we just walked like damn bimbo-itic to the middle of the stage, then did some funky moves loh. And a mere six for that!!!? Wth!

And to think we were racking our brains for moves to present on the stage, other teams were thinking also lah, like in the backstage, but obviously before the whole performance started.

Then me, Mara and Wenyao mingled about with the others after the whole thing, had drinks and just chatted about.

Then I don't know why I'd feel this way. Perhaps it's the ego, that the sense of inferiority creeps in; wished it was never like this or like that. But then it just turns out the way to be even more ego sapping, building on to that even more towering blocks of inferiority. Hmm, towering blocks of inferiority, I thought that sounded pretty stupid, but then, after some more thoughts, I think it's dangerous now.

And we'd come to the issue; like those heavy metal balls that are chained to the cell inmates. Totally bogged down. Yeah, like totally. Then again, if we were strong enough, then the metal balls shoudn't be too much of a problem, should it?

Anyway, Windows 7 seems to be on the way to the PCs now. Muahahhaah, I'm gonna get myself a new desktop soon. My current lenovo is a total wreckage now, and let me tell you what I mean by that.

First of all, even though the olympic logo that's on the lid of my laptop seems very awe-inspiring. The innards of this dumb laptop is total crap.

Look damn sexy right?? But do not be FOOLED! Muahahha!

Let's get a bit technical over here, it's dual-core, hmmm, sounds good. But at a pathetic processor speed of 1.2 ghz! Damn kuku lah! And I believe it's way below the recommended specifications for SP Self-Cert! But then, the Self-Cert thing still works, so belly good loh. No need to buy new laptop.

Secondly, I just don't like this laptop. Lol, no idea why. Maybe it looks normal to me, but my classmates think it's stylish, which I don't think it is. -___-

But then, my desktop is worst! 3.2ghz, pentium4 with ht. Not even dual core, but then at 3.2, it's pretty fast already. Then the graphics card, it's screwed up, some stupid 9200GX ATI card. It's a dumb card that costs less than a hundred bucks? Ok lah, my laptop comes with a stupid intel integrated card, which is worst.

So you see, that's why I need a new computer. And the most important reason for the change is...

STUPID MSN!

It's been almost eight weeks since school! Well, I wasn't really looking foward to school reopening. /:

Haha, anyway, school was super crowded! Like really crowded, I've not a single clue to why this is so!! Maybe of the freshies, cos' they are new to the school, and needa walk about the school, and they don't dare to pon school? LOL! That's the conclusions me and my friend had. I think they sound pretty true.

Subway was crowded too!

But then by today, there isn't even any queue! LOL! So fast no queue already! -.-

Right, just before the new term starts. I thought I would have really enjoy myself for the last time. Yup, you guessed it! I went out again last friday. This time, with Andrew as well.

Initially, we had our minds set forth on going Yishun, but somehow Mara managed to persuade to leave for Clarke Quay instead. We got there, and shit, it was like deserted. YES, totally deserted! Maybe not totally (I exaggerated that), but there was no crowd, no nothing. -___-

Never mind that. Headed to subway, and that's when the camera man sprung into action once again!

We're like looking so happy! Cos' we're eating fresh! Muahahahahah!

Then walked not more than 20 steps, and I saw Ivy. Waved to her, and carried on our way.

Mara and Andrew left at around six, thus me and S went to Iluma, discussed some stuff while we were at Coffee Bean. And guess what!? I saw another two friends!!

Pooi Yee and Shu En, though they didn't see me lah. So I walked up to them when we were about to leave; exchanged some words and joked about.

Can anyone tell me why Bugis is so crowded and popular???? There's like nothing there, really.
